This is very common
Many couples in fiancé(e) and spouse-abroad cases have not been able to live together, often because of the immigration process itself. Your proof will look different from a couple with a shared lease, and that is normal. What matters is honest records of your real relationship.
Proof that can help
- Records of visits: tickets, boarding passes, hotel bookings and passport stamps, with the dates you were together.
- Dated photos from each visit, with captions.
- A few examples of your messages or call history over time, with names and dates showing.
- Money you sent each other or shared plans, if that applies.
- Letters from friends or family who know you as a couple.
- Wedding or engagement records and plans to live together.
K-1 cases: the meeting rule
For a K-1 fiancé(e) visa, USCIS generally requires that you met in person in the 2 years before you file Form I-129F, with a few exceptions. Visit records and photos from that time are especially important.
Organize by visit
Group records and photos by trip, in date order. Someone should be able to see each visit quickly: when, where and proof you were together. In Case Album you can label a whole trip at once.

Frequently asked questions
Can we apply if we have never lived together?
Yes. Living together is not required for Form I-130 or I-129F. Couples who live apart usually rely more on visit records, messages and photos.
How do I prove we met in person for a K-1 visa?
Couples usually send travel records for the visit plus dated photos taken together. The I-129F instructions explain the rule and its exceptions.
