No. DV-2027 registration is paused. On October 29, 2026, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals put on hold the order that required registration to open on November 1, while the government appeals.
What happened to the November 1 opening?
A district court ordered the State Department to announce registration by October 29 and open it on November 1. The government appealed. News reports say the appeals court paused that order on October 29, so neither date applies for now.
- November 1: not an opening date anymore. The court order that set it is on hold.
- New date: none announced. Only the State Department can announce one.
- What comes next: the appeal continues. A later ruling or an official announcement can change the schedule.
The appeals court said the law firm that sued is unlikely to win, but also said it was not approving the decision to keep registration closed. Check dvprogram.state.gov and travel.state.gov for the official word.
What to prepare while registration is paused
- Your valid passport, required scan and accurate personal and family details.
- A recent individual photo for each person who must be listed. A technically valid file is not automatically an acceptable portrait.
- Access to your own email. Keep control of the entry and save your confirmation number when you submit.
