DV-2027 refers to the visa year ending September 30, 2027. It does not mean registration must occur in calendar year 2027.
Why the confusion?
- DV-2027 registration was delayed. People are now seeing DV-2027 discussions at a time normally associated with a later program.
- The State Department's existing DV-2027 notice says the visa application period remains October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027.
- An old DV-2026 date or a guessed DV-2028 timetable does not tell you when DV-2027 entries open.
What to do: read the program year on the official entry page and follow its published instructions. Do not use an unofficial site's calendar as proof that registration has opened.
